Open work permit stream in Canada for H-1B visa holders in the USA

Under this initiative, H-1B specialty occupation visa holders in the United States can apply for an open work permit in Canada. Additionally, accompanying family members of H-1B visa holders can also apply for temporary resident visas, including work or study permits, fostering a supportive environment for immigrant families.

The measure will be in effect for one year or until Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reaches 10,000 applications, with only principal applicants counting towards the application cap.
